Erasmus + in Hungary

On Saturday, October 5, at almost noon, we met at the train station in Česká Lípa and set off to Budapest a few hundred kilometres away. After 8 hours on the train we finally got off at the Keleti Pú in Budapest. From there, with their suitcases, they set out to look for a hotel. After 40 minutes of travelling we found the hotel and stayed. In the morning after breakfast we went to discover the beauty of Budapest. We saw Andrassy Tues, the National Opera House shrouded in scaffolding, St. Stephen Bridge, Chain Bridge, climbed uphill to Fisherman’s Bastion and to the Church of St. Stephen. Matthias, they passed the Royal Palace

to get back across the bridge to the Town Market. On the way to the bus station we managed to see the largest European synagogue. We left the bus station in the direction of Eger, where parents were already waiting for us and dismantled tired children.

On Monday followed the program at school: the official launch of the program, ice-breaking games. This was followed by a tour of the school and a joint lunch. After lunch, each group showed their prepared video. After evaluation and discussion, the children went back to their families.

On Tuesday we had a day trip to Szarvaskö Ecological Park. The children saw cows, sheep, goats and horses alive. They learned how to make butter, milk, cheese or honey. Those who wanted could ride several hundred meters on horseback. After a typical kettle goulash, the children enriched their knowledge of herbals and tasted rosehip or nettle tea. At the end we went through an ecological camp and set out on our way back to Eger.

On Wednesday we set out on our second day trip to Lillafüret, about 100 km away from the National Park. First we looked at the cave then our steps led to the chateau and chateau gardens. At the adjacent lake, children and courageous teachers took a boat ride and we ended the day with a cable car to the summit. Interesting outlooks were a reward for a moment of fear. Then we jumped on the buses and set off on our way back to Eger.

Look forward to more news from Eger, Hungary.
